Page 62:
His figure on the screen has started out a little boy. For a while it had changed into a bear. Now it was a large mouse, with long and delicate hands. He ran his figure under a lot of large items of furniture depicted on the screen. He had played with the cat a lot, but now it was boring—too easy to dodge, he knew all the furniture.
Not through the mouse hole this time, he told himself. I’m sick of the Giant. It’s a dumb game and I can’t ever win. Whatever I choose is wrong.
Patches of fresh gravel have been laid on the road, yellow signs warning of low wires and pebble spray. He’s driven these bends most of his life it seems. You’d think he’d know by now he won’t get reception. He fiddles the dial and the opening strains of The Hip’s “Blowin’ High Dough” break through as his wheel catches the shoulder’s edge. He sees it coming. He knows this dip.

Hi Julie,
Love this blog idea! I’ve been reading for a few months now, although this is the first time I’ve posted a response. Since the quoted text is from one of my favourite books as a kid, I figured I was kind of obligated.
The text you quoted is actually from Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. Not sure how that got mixed up with the other book you’ve mentioned (which I’ve never heard of), but I’ve read EG so many times that I couldn’t help but notice.
Out of curiosity, was today’s reader actually reading Ender’s Game, or Halo Contact Harvest?
(PS, they’re both on TOR books, so that part is at least correct.)
Thanks, and keep it up!
Craig

Hey Craig,
I have no idea how that happened. I have an Ender’s Game sighting, so I’m guessing I did an erroneous cut and paste? This was for Halo Contact Harvest, that much I knew. Dang, recorded the podcast and everthing!
By the way, have you noticed how many TOR books end up in my sightings? Super popular publisher!
Thanks for pointing out the boo boo. If I can find the correct entry, I’ll be sure to replace this one.
See you again!
Julie
